Why is kvatch so hard

Although I've always preferred having the escorts dead, they just get in my way. Besides, sometimes they have some great items, lol.

Being a Crusader and looking forward to doing the Nights of the Nine DLC i wanted my main Oblivion Character to be part of all the Chivalric Orders in the game, so i had to keep the one escort safe so i could be sure of joining the Knights of the Thorn. When i say escort though i'm mainly thinking about the Defense of Bruma quest.

After my first playthrough, where I did everything but the main quest and then at a high level couldn't complete it, and then a second playthrough, where I did the main quest first and then worked through everything else, I got an ultimate feel for how the game all worked and by my third character I could do everything and didn't have any problems.

Starting new was just hard, but you'll get it. I play on xbox by the way. Seeing as this is my first play-through I'm not going to stress about it too much. I'll keep at it with the Argonian and just tweak the difficulty when necessary. Next time I go through with a different character I'll be a little more careful about how I play. You picked a fun class, it's just not easy to level sometimes. Neither is particularly in line with the sort of character you have rolled, but they should help….

So, am I left with just buying them by the truckload or what? I was lvl 6 and never did anything BUT the main quest line. Not a chance I can take them. No way.

Having a lot more fun. I beat Kvatch at around level 6 using sneak, Moonshadow invisibility and running my ass off to retrieve the quest item that completes the castle siege. They make a pretty good duo to complete the side quests with.

I tried some other characters this way, but most of them spent more time passed out than awake and were a pain to herd around so I stuck with these two. If you want to get the 'best' out of the mechanics of the game by making sure you can get those maximum upgrades at each level then you can also whack the difficultly up, if on the other hand you like been more of a 'purist' and enjoy the game for the sake of it then drag that slider to the left!

User Info: avidgamer4. Play as a summoner conjuration. The monsters you summon will fight for you and as you increase in skill level, just buy more powerful summons in Chorrol. I've beaten 8 daedra at Kvatch in one fight with just that custom spell and no enchantments, weapons, or armor.
