Oh that's great news. Burstbucker said:. Thanks again BWebb! JCM Member. Messages 6, You can install it anywhere and everywhere you want.
Due to the iLok you are only able to use one machine at a time anyway. That's how they control usage. The software does nothing without the iLok. Since your son is the one who is the student that qualifies, I would check that license agreement to see what it says.
I seem to recall that they are more rigid with the academic versions since it could be easy to cheat to take advantage of the pricing. The software should be used on your son's computer only and not for your use on a machine of yours. You've posted on several threads about how you are getting the "super discount" student deal on Pro Tools. That deal is not for you it's for the qualified student only. Last edited: Feb 13, What else does Pro Tools Well, top of the list has to be the equally unexciting but necessary Mojave support.
Pro Tools has been in the difficult position of being unsupported on the current Mac OS for some months and this has now been officially addressed, though many people have been unofficially running Pro Tools on Mojave for some time. Some Pro Tools Ultimate users now benefit from 50 percent higher voice counts. All Pro Tools Ultimate users receive an additional 50 percent in their voice allocation, up to a maximum of The original plan was that HDX users too would receive an additional 50 percent per card, but this hit some late technical problems and at the time of writing there is no increase in voices available to HDX users.
Ultimate users without HDX cards can purchase additional voice packs. HDX users cannot use voice packs and the only way for them to access extra voices is through buying additional HDX cards. There is a new addition to the New Tracks dialogue: as well as number, type, timebase and channel width, there is now a track name field. This new field does away with the need to create tracks in one operation and then name them afterwards. Pro Tools First has had the limit of three Projects changed.
Bearing in mind that this free version of Pro Tools doesn't support conventional Pro Tools Sessions, the limitation of a maximum of three Projects for collaboration previously meant that starting a fourth project necessitated deleting one of the previous three Projects.
Now unlimited local Projects are supported, but only the three that are sync'ed with the cloud can be worked on at a time. Can this be done under the same license? The reason i ask is cause i know you now need to pay for a yearly license now. Thank you. You can install on both machines and move your ilok between them to the one you are using, no problems.
Thank you so much, I just wanted to be sure. I am trying to set up my ProTools 12 right now with a subscription and when i try to use it on my second computer it says the device needs activating but that my license doesn't have any activations left. Re: Pro Tools 11 on multiple computers?
You can install and use it on as many computers as you want but you need your iLok connected to whatever computer you are using at the time.
Pro Tools Subscriptions cannot be transferred. Go to ilok. To install Pro Tools First on additional computers, simply download and run the installer from your Avid account on the new system. Once the installation is complete, open the iLok License Manager program, then sign into your iLok account. Re: How do I transfer my current Pro Tools 12 to my new computer? Just install all of them on your new computer and install ilok license manager aswell and just connect your ilok key into the new Mac.
Intel PC running Windows 8. Note: Windows 7 is not tested or supported with Pro Tools All you need to do is plug both iLoks into your computer, then just drag the licenses from your old iLok to your new iLok.
Make sure you wait for your computer to complete the transfer before quitting the License Manager or removing your iLoks. Begin typing your search term above and press enter to search. Press ESC to cancel. Ben Davis June 2, Is there a free version of Pro Tools?
