Compare that to the fact that some yogis teach over 1, classes a year. I can't even imagine how difficult that must be. So these are just some of the many great yogis that I've had the pleasure of taking class with. I could go on-and-on, as the list is never-ending and so is the yogic journey -- which is the beauty of it anyway, right?

Whether it is someone who hates you or who is indifferent to you or someone with whom you relate well to, who is related to you, or is a saint or a sinner -a yogi sees them all as the same, with equanimity.
Exercise is a very recent idea. In earlier generations, only wrestlers and warriors exercised. The rest of the people just worked. There was a lot of physical activity, so naturally, people were well-exercised. When you do Surya Namaskar for example, do not focus on your muscles but on becoming in sync with the source of all energy in this solar system. How long will it take to get there? How long does it take to become a yogi? It can be a moment, it can be a millennium, or it can be never.
You might as well ask how long it takes to fall in love with someone, or how long it takes to become a devotee. You can set a time only for physical aspects, not the subtler aspects of life. If your goal is to become a Yoga teacher, five-and-a-half months are good enough.
If your goal is to become a yogi, it may happen in five-and-a-half seconds, or it may not happen in five-and-a-half lifetimes, because it is not of the physical nature. It depends on how an individual being allows it to happen.
Otherwise, something very fundamental is going waste. Clothes, tea, wine, coffee, cocoa… Everything! You can always choose the organic and fair trade products that are both good for you but also for the environment and the people that work in producing the products. So, Conscious choices are definitely part of being a good Yogi. And what comes to the daily practice of Yoga… As You may already know the Yoga practice is so much more than just the asanas.
I have myself 3 children, we have a minor zoo with 4 cats and a rescue dog and both me and my husband are entrepreneurs, sometimes the time kind of slips between your fingers and you have to choose between rest and practice. For me as a former Cancer patient the choice is always rest. If you just measure a Yoga teacher in base of how acrobatic this is You can as well go to study to circus. And with out being religious, that is when the path starts to be spiritual.
Not in Religion or belief systems, diets, training forms or Yoga forms and ideologies. We all need to listen inwards find out what works out for us, what is our purpose, what makes us feel good and what makes us to be better persons.
